Senior Legal Counsel

Our client is one of the Global Financial Services firms, who has their GCC setup in Mumbai. Looking for a seasoned candidate to join as their Legal Counsel and be the single point of contact for all legal activities.Some of the key responsibilities will include:Lead all litigation efforts and participate in investigations, escalating issues to senior management as needed.Collaborate with divisional managers, legal advisors, and counterparties to draft, vet, and finalize contracts. Negotiate contractual terms within the defined risk framework and organizational guidelines.Establish strong processes and controls, ensuring compliance with global policies and procedures.Manage and motivate the legal team, ensuring timely delivery of work and cross-training plans. Maintain strong relationships with local management, global legal teams, and external professional contacts.To be eligible for this role you will require:Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in legal departments within banking & financial services firms; experience in a global capability center (GCC) is an advantage.Work experience of Indian and international legal and regulatory environments. Extensive experience working with senior stakeholders globally.Proven ability to execute and negotiate large, complex contracts.Ability to analyze business requirements and regulations, providing clear recommendations on risk and control issues.Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
