Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic Fintech company. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of legal issues in the financial sector, specifically with expertise in RBI regulations, Company Law, and Indemnity matters. This role requires a professional who can independently manage and resolve all legal queries from clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance and protecting the company’s interests.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal advice to the company’s leadership on various legal matters, including RBI regulations, Company Law, Indemnity agreements, and general corporate law.
Address and resolve all legal queries from clients, ensuring their concerns are managed with precision and clarity.
Ensure the company’s compliance with all relevant regulations, including RBI guidelines, and assist in the preparation and submission of necessary regulatory filings.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including client agreements, partnership contracts, NDAs, and indemnity agreements.
Identify potential legal risks related to the company’s operations and work proactively to mitigate them.
Handle legal disputes, including pre-litigation strategy, managing external counsel when necessary, and representing the company in legal proceedings.
Develop and update internal legal policies, ensuring they are in line with current laws and best practices.
Provide training and mentorship to junior legal staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle day-to-day legal tasks.
Work closely with other departments (e.g., Compliance, Finance, HR) to ensure legal alignment across the company.
Qualifications
LLB/LLM from a recognized university. Additional qualifications in finance or business law will be an advantage.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in the financial services or fintech sector.
In-depth knowledge of RBI regulations, Company Law, Indemnity agreements, and other relevant legal frameworks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High ethical standards and a keen eye for detail.
