Job Description
The Legal Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal functions related to the Retail, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Franchise I&D business across regions. The role includes handling litigation matters across India and ensuring compliance with legal regulations, particularly in areas of labor law and union issues. The Legal Manager will also provide guidance on disciplinary actions, terminations, inquiries, and closures while overseeing the work of two direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:
Legal Oversight:
• Oversee the legal functions for Retail, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Franchise I&D operations across multiple regions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all legal matters, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
Litigation Management – Legacy cases – PAN India:
• Manage and oversee all litigation matters across India, including disputes, claims, and settlements.
• Provide strategic legal advice in the context of ongoing and potential litigation, minimizing risks to the business.
Labour Law Expertise:
• Demonstrate expertise in labor laws, including but not limited to Labor Trade Agreements (LTA), Voluntary Retirement Schemes (VRS), and related union issues.
• Provide counsel on compliance with labor laws, employee relations, and union negotiations.
Employee Relations and Disciplinary Action:
• Independently handle disciplinary actions, including inquiries, terminations, and closures, ensuring legal compliance and fair process.
• Advise business units on resolving employee disputes, grievances, and performance issues.
