About The Team / Role
WEX is seeking a self-driven and motivated individual to join our Commercial International EMEA Legal team as a Commercial Paralegal.

Reporting to Legal Director, Commercial International EMEA, this role will be primarily responsible for supporting the commercial and transactional work of the Commercial International EMEA Legal team. As a new member of the team, the Commercial Paralegal will have the opportunity to utilize and enhance their subject matter experience in commercial contracts and transactional matters, particularly customer and revenue-generating agreements. This legal role will include working with WEX’s existing internal lawyers and external counsel across Europe to ensure the highest quality support is provided.

How You’ll Make An Impact

The Commercial Paralegal will:
• Assist lawyers with the preparation, review and execution of commercial documentation.
• Under the supervision of the Legal Director, Commercial International, EMEA, draft and review a wide variety of commercial contracts, including customer and other revenue generating agreements such as general terms and conditions, program agreements, security agreements, acceptance agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
• Manage contract lifecycle system, including maintaining the legal repository of contracts, creating contracts, routing contracts for internal review and approvals and executing contracts in the system.
• Manage matter workflow, including managing the legal request queue for matter intake in the workload matter management system (Xakia), interfacing with internal stakeholders and administrative tasks related to completing matters for the Commercial International EMEA legal team.
• Collaborate with support functions such as Finance, Compliance, Risk and the Regulatory legal team.
• Assist with strategic projects as necessary.
• Utilise excellent written and verbal communication skills and exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making.

How You'll Engage
• Experience with legal technologies (matter management and contract lifecycle management systems) strongly preferred.
• Previous experience working in-house supporting the customer revenue generating side is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to learn IT applications and systems.
• Hard working, dependable, careful attention to detail, curiosity, resourcefulness, consistent follow through, and good judgment.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload effectively and independently while accountable for work product.
• Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid analytical and organizational skills.
• Cooperativeness, flexibility, ability to collaborate and work across functions in a team oriented environment.
• Strong ability to use time efficiently to meet multiple deadlines and to take responsibility for completing assignments with supervision when needed.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and AdobeSign or similar

Experience You’ll Bring
• Education: University degree or equivalent level experience.
• Experience: a minimum of 3+ years of significant and substantive experience with commercial contracts and transactional matters, including drafting and generating agreements and redlining revisions and comments from third parties and internal stakeholders.
