Job Description

Now Brewing – project manager senior – Partner Technology! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

This role is critical to Starbucks’ success, leading complex, enterprise‑scale Partner Technology initiatives that drive operational excellence and enable long‑term transformation. As a project manager senior, you will guide high‑performing, cross‑functional teams to deliver a diverse portfolio of work, including core platform enhancements, large‑scale product implementations, and enterprise system upgrades.

You will act as a strategic leader within Partner Technology, partnering closely with business and technology leaders to own end‑to‑end delivery—from early concept and planning through execution and value realization. The role requires navigating ambiguity, enterprise governance and funding models, regulatory requirements, external vendor relationships, and tightly coupled delivery timelines across multiple teams and workstreams.

Success in this role demands decisive leadership, disciplined delivery, and strong executive communication. You will proactively identify risks and dependencies, drive mitigation strategies, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable business value aligned with Starbucks’ Back‑to‑Starbucks vision.

As a program manager senior, you will…
• Drive End-to-End Delivery of Strategic Initiatives - Own the full lifecycle of complex, cross‑enterprise initiatives—from intake and planning through execution and delivery—translating business strategy into actionable scope, milestones, and success metrics. Ensure outcomes deliver measurable value aligned to enterprise priorities in the Workforce Management and Human Resource space.
• Lead Cross-Functional Alignment and Governance - Act as the central integration point across business, technology, and external partners. Drive alignment through effective facilitation of decision-making, dependency management, and enterprise governance processes (stage gates, funding approvals, risk and issue escalation), while maintaining clear visibility and confidence with senior leadership.
• Proactively Manage Risk, Change, and Stakeholder Communication - Anticipate and proactively manage risks, scope changes, and delivery tradeoffs in complex, multi-team environments. Communicate progress, decisions, and impacts clearly and concisely to executives and teams, ensuring shared understanding and timely course correction.

• PMP, PgMP, and Scrum Master Certifications are a plus.
• Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.
