Where You Fit:
Springbrook is currently seeking a technical Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Order to Cash (OTC) team. As a Revenue Accountant and an individual with a strong technical understanding of ASC 606, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, professional services, and legal, to ensure revenue recognition aligns with business activities and contract terms.
This position will have hybrid / flexible to work from home and report to corporate office in American Fork, UT. For this reason, we are primarily looking for candidates who will reside within Utah and Salt Lake counties.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and interpret complex customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Maintain and enhance existing processes and controls for newer, evolving product offerings ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP and internal revenue recognition policies
• Work with sales, professional services, and legal teams to review and understand contract terms, ensuring alignment between contract language and revenue recognition policies
• Prepare and maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition conclusions
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules and reconciliations related to revenue and accounts receivable
• Prepare revenue-related journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate discrepancies, making necessary adjustments as needed
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements related to revenue recognition and related accounting processes
• Contribute to the enhancement of internal controls and compliance procedures to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Provide support for periodic Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analyses
• Assist in the coordination of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue recognition practices and procedures
• Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as required
• Maintain general awareness of Springbrook security and privacy policies
• Report any security incident or suspected security incident to the Springbrook Incident Response Team
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• 5 years of experience in revenue recognition, preferably in a SaaS or technology company
• Solid understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• High attention to detail
• Exceptional analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
• Public accounting experience
• Licensed CPA or progress towards a CPA
• Sage Intacct and Salesforce.com proficiency
