About the role
Government department seeks an experienced Senior Security Advisor with experience in office building security management function to join them on an assignment for a duration of up to a period of 6-month based in Melbourne CBD. As the Senior Security Advisor, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of security function planning and works program to implement the organisation's security framework, principles, policies and guidelines.
Key Accountabilities
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
engaging with diverse stakeholders, including peers, industry bodies and other government or industry agencies to support and influence effective implementation of office building security works programs, advice, and service delivery.
ensuring the department is delivering its security services offering in alignment with service level agreement commitments and catalogue of services requirements, identifying and providing advice on any risks or issues that may impact delivery.
governance and oversight of operational security outsourced providers, ensuring performance is aligned to all relevant contractual requirements, government policies and performance measures including the Security Risk Assessment program.
providing subject matter advice and expertise on office accommodation security matters as required, applying contemporary security concepts that ensure security considerations are integrated with the department's strategic management and delivery responsibilities.
building collaborative, constructive relationships with clients, staff and outsourced providers, adopting a holistic approach which integrates security strategy and enables clients to deliver on their business outcomes.
managing a small team, providing expert guidance to non-subject matter expert on security considerations across the department managed portfolio.
providing expert advice to senior management on emerging security related risks and opportunities or any required changes or resource needs.
Key Selection Criteria
The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:
Demonstrated experience and expertise in building security management function with an appreciation for the strategic, policy and operational requirements of a complex office portfolio.
Highly developed understanding of the security authorising environment both nationally and locally research, qualitative and quantitative analysis skills, including monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
Governance and functional area management experience, including oversight of outsourced providers, budget, and risk management.
Highly developed writing and presentation skills and ability to present complex problems in a clear, succinct way.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage successfully with multiple stakeholders, managing competing demands to deliver effective policy and strategy solutions.
Qualifications
Extensive experience in developing enterprise frameworks and policies and a strong knowledge of Compliance Management Systems.
