The opportunity:
As a Senior Tax Consultant, you’ll play a key role in keeping our financials sharp, our compliance tight, and our advice top-notch.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Consultant to support the organisation in meeting all tax-related legal and accounting obligations. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, calculating payments, and ensuring the accuracy of tax-related financial information. You will provide timely and reliable tax advice to business units, support financial reporting, and help manage the Group’s relationship with Inland Revenue.
You will also contribute to process improvements, identify tax risks, and ensure compliance with internal policies and best practice. Success in this role will be reflected in minimal tax compliance issues, strong financial integrity, and effective support across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Drive the tax return process for AIA NZ Group and related entities.
Calculate tax payments and ensure they are accurate and on time.
Dive into financial reporting, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
Be the go-to for smart, timely tax advice across the business.
Spot risks, streamline processes, and bring automation ideas to life.
Build strong relationships with Inland Revenue and internal teams.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
3–5 years of tax experience (in-house or professional services).
A degree in BCom, BMS, LLB or equivalent.
CA or legal qualification (or working towards it).
Up-to-date tax knowledge and sharp analytical skills.
A curious mind, great judgment, and a knack for solving problems.
Advanced Excel wizardry, SAP GL know-how, and TaxLab experience = big plus!
