What is the role?
Central Procurement Services (CPS) is responsible for delivering strategic procurement and contract management services in support of AFP operations and activities.

CPS are looking for highly motivated and organised individuals who can work effectively under limited direction to deliver procurement and/or contracts expertise for the AFP. Individuals are expected to possess the skills and experience to ensure procurement and contract activities are considered, compliant and seek to achieve value for money.

AFP appointees are responsible for achieving outcomes consistent with regulatory requirements, the AFP Code of Conduct and AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will meet the requirements of the positions as outlined below.

What will you do?
As a Senior Team Member you play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that create a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and values of each individual.

The role of Senior Team Member includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Develop team members and fulfil a guiding, mentoring and advisory role.
Engage with key stakeholders and form productive relationships to ensure delivery of procurement outcomes in a successful and collaborative environment.
Perform procurement and/or contract management activities, including requirements analysis, drafting proposals and performing quality reviews.
Pursue, develop and nurture internal and external professional networks and collaborative working relationships.
Maintain accurate records and comply with reporting and other regulatory requirements of Government.
Provide sound advice to AFP business areas on ways to improve or enhance their procurement and/or contract management practices.
Ensure appropriate action is taken to anticipate, communicate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and processes.
Ensure up-to-date knowledge of Commonwealth procurement legislative frameworks, rules, and guidance.
Seek continual improvement in AFP operational practices, procedures, and guidelines.
Represent CPS at various inter and intra agency meetings as required.
Essential Requirements
You must be an Australian Citizen
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years in procurement and/or contract management.
Demonstrated understanding and working experience of Government procurement including policies and legislation.
Possess strong stakeholder engagement skills.
High level attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Desirable Requirements
Relevant qualification in procurement or contract management.
Additional Information
The roles are ideally based in Canberra, however consideration to work from an AFP office in Melbourne or Perth may be negotiated.
We support flexible work arrangements, however it is expected that the successful applicants will work from the office at least 2-3 days per week for team connectivity and collaboration.
