The Senior Training Officer works closely with the Principal Advisor, Custodial Operations Training, and a team of training officers to design, implement and assess custodial officer training programs with a key function to deliver the Custodial Officer Entry Program (COEP). We are looking for applicants with the following:
Experience in the delivery of competency-based training and assessment Experience in and a detailed understanding of the operations of the corrections industry particularly those related to the operations of a correctional centre Knowledge and skills to deliver and assess staff in Entry Level Training and Correctional Practices competencies and assessments Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to apply those in the design and delivery of training Conflict resolution and problem solving skills to deal with trainee custodial officers whilst conducting entry level training Excellent presentation skills with the ability to think on your feet when facilitating Confident facilitator with demonstrated capability to successfully engage a diverse audience of adult learners to help cement knowledge transfer and application Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work in a team environment Highly developed written and oral communication skills to ensure training programs and delivery of those programs is designed for the target audience Demonstrated skills in negotiating service delivery priorities, deadlines, and resources
