Connell is a multi-disciplinary civil construction company with offices based in Auckland, Hamilton, Taupo and New Plymouth. We are industry leaders in the energy and three water sectors, specialising in all civil related disciplines. Our sites include brownfield and greenfield electrical substations/switchyards, solar farms, deep and complex drainage projects. Many sites include in-situ cast concrete and precast concrete buildings and structures. Projects are delivered to clients nationwide and we hold a strong reputation for market leading performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Running the show onsite - from daily toolbox talks to hands on leadership
Keeping the crew sharp, safe, and productive
Guiding and upskilling your team through experience and know how
Reading plans, solving problems, and hitting targets
Making sure gear is in top shape and documentation’s accurate and tight
Liaising with clients, Contracts Managers and site teams to get it done right
ABOUT YOU
You’re an experienced supervisor who’s been in the trenches and know what it takes to keep a crew humming and a site running smooth. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves, make solid calls under pressure and take ownership of jobs from start to finish.
Reporting to the Construction Manager you will hold:
Minimum three years New Zealand based supervisor experience in civil construction sector
Experience on the following – earthworks, drainage, precast concrete, in-situ concrete
Natural leadership and no-nonsense attitude to health & safety
A sharp eye for quality and the paperwork to match
Confidence with plans, scopes, and scheduling
Willingness to mentor and build up the next generation of tradies
Full class 1 licence
Flexibility to regularly travel and stay away as jobs require
