The Opportunity: We are expanding due to our continuous growth and have an exciting opening for an experienced Solicitor or Paralegal. In this role, you will primarily handle Workers Compensation, Industrial Deafness, Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), and Motor Accidents Compensation claims. As an innovative professional, you will support our Principal Solicitor and Office Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in general office duties, managing reception, mail, filing documents and diary management etc.
Attending to new and existing client service requests and enquiries.
Liaising with Counsel, clients, insurers, insurer's solicitors and medical professionals.
Arranging conferences and briefs for Counsel.
Arranging medico-legal appointments for clients.
Preparation and lodgement of applications for funding with the Independent Review Office (IRO).
Preparation and lodgement of claim forms with the insurers (ICARE and CTP).
Preparation and lodgement of dispute resolution application forms with the Personal Injury Commission.
Preparation and lodgement of Statement of Claims and Statement of Particulars with the Courts.
Preparation of client’s matters for informal settlement conferences, Court hearings and Conciliation / Arbitration hearings in the Personal Injury Commission.
Generating & editing correspondence to be sent out to Counsel, clients, insurers, insurer's solicitors and medical professionals using LEAP.
Requirements:
1+ years' experience, specifically in Workers Compensation and Motor Accidents Compensation claims.
Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills.
Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
Ability to manage deadlines and handle a high volume of files.
Proficiency with the Personal Injury Commission (Pathway Portal).
Proficiency with the NSW Online Registry (Courts and Tribunals).
Proficiency with the Independent Review Office (IRO).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat Pro and LEAP.
Applicants will have a native-level proficiency in Vietnamese (preferred but not mandatory).
Applicants will have a high-level proficiency in English.
