About the Role
The Critical Care unit at Waikato Hospital is on a significant growth path to reform services and expand ICU level beds. As Deputy Clinical Head of the Department, you will participate in clinical leadership and management of medical staff.
Main Responsibilities
Assist the Head of Department with clinical leadership and management of medical staff
Participate in decision-making and strategic planning for the department
Work collaboratively with Allied Health, Nursing, Midwifery, and corporate counterparts
About the Team/Service/Location
The Critical Care Department at Waikato Hospital is the tertiary provider for Intensive Care to the Midland region of New Zealand. We operate within a 34-bed footprint, treating approximately 1500 ICU and 3000 HDU level patients annually.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must:
Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of practice of Intensive Care Medicine
Fellowship in the Australasian College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM)
Single or dual-trained specialists are encouraged to apply; subspecialty interests supported
