The ideal candidate will proactively refactor and optimize inefficient SQL queries and database structures to improve overall application performance.
They will implement database schema changes and deploy database objects using Visual Studio, DACPACs, and Git-based version control, ensuring seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
Closely collaborating with Database Administrators (DBAs) is essential in troubleshooting performance issues and implementing effective solutions.
The system administrator will analyze database logs (deadlocks, wait statistics, blocking) to identify root causes of performance problems.
Proactive requests and interpretation of server-level diagnostics are required to gain deeper insights into database performance.
The chosen individual will develop and recommend optimal indexing strategies based on real-time performance metrics and query patterns.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 6-8 years of proven experience as a SQL Server Developer with a strong focus on T-SQL.
• Deep understanding of relational database concepts and SQL Server architecture.
• Solid understanding of database performance tuning principles and methodologies.
• Experience with database version control and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their integration with database deployments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
