We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Loveland, CO. JFT offers some work from home flexibility, but in-office days are also required. The anticipated closing date for this position is 7/31/25 and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Function:
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, providing a comprehensive financial perspective of the company. As the sole accountant managing the daily operations of the company, this role is responsible for everything from accounts receivable and payroll to financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. As a key financial professional, you will play a vital role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insights that drive business decisions. DutiesResponsibilities:
Prepare, develop, and update financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Prepare month end journal entries, financial statements, and reporting.
Maintain and update cash flow forecasts to ensure accurate short- and long-term liquidity planning; analyze variances and provide insights to support financial decision-making.
Create accurate AR invoices according to various contract terms and milestones.
Timely processing, reconciliation, and reporting of company payroll.
Review client contracts for accounting and tax requirements.
Reconcile bank statements and GL accounts.
File sales and use tax, and create accounts in new areas as needed.
Maintain fixed asset records, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation.
Set up projects in ERP system with proper accounting defaults.
Assist project managers and leadership with cost analysis.
Review all costs for allowability per government contract requirements, including a strong understanding of indirect rate structure.
Provide audit support.
Support the creation, enhancement, and enforcement of internal controls and accounting policies.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements (FAR).
Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives and special projects, including cost tracking, labor reporting, and ERP enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or construction industries and/or public accounting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Exposure to internal and/or external audits.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
Experience with government contract accounting and cost accounting is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are required.
This position requires the incumbent to work with export-controlled items.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to work on a computer (standing or sitting) for most of the day and operate standard office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers, vendors and applicants is essential. May occasionally lift and carry items, typically under 25lbs.
Typical Working Conditions: Primarily an office environment with periodic exposure to the fabrication/machine shops. JFT has implemented a 9/80 work schedule, and the office is closed every other Friday.
