Job Description
An Accountant is a position within the accounting department of an organization. Accountant will work under the supervision of accounting managers to support the financial operations and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Job Description:
• General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by recording financial transactions, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and expense reimbursements. Ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified.
• Bookkeeping: Perform basic bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining financial records. Update and maintain various accounting schedules and reports.
• Accounts Payable: Assist in processing accounts payable transactions, such as verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and preparing payments. Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendors and resolve any payment discrepancies.
• Accounts Receivable: Assist in managing accounts receivable activities, including generating customer invoices, recording cash receipts, and following up on outstanding customer balances. Help resolve any billing discrepancies or customer inquiries.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Assist in analyzing financial data and identifying trends or discrepancies.
• Audit Support: Provide assistance during internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation, reconciling accounts, and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated with relevant accounting principles, standards, and regulations like GST,TDS, Income Tax rules, PF etc. Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations in financial transactions and reporting.
Requirements:
• Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is usually required.
• Knowledge of accounting principles: The candidate should have a good understanding of accounting principles, such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), TDS and GST
• Experience: 1/2 years of relevant experience is a must
• Computer skills: Basic computer skills are essential for accountants, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Tally ERP or Prime.
• Attention to detail: Need to be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills to be able to identify discrepancies in financial records.
• Communication skills: Good communication skills are important, to interact with other departments and teams.
• Time management: Need to be able to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Teamwork: Junior accountant will work as part of a team, so the ability to collaborate with others and contribute to team goals is important.
