Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior EHS Manager to oversee the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs for our fiberglass and metals manufacturing plants
This role will primarily focus on safety, with a strong understanding of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance, Title V air permitting, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics
Safety Management:
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe working environment across all fiberglass and metals manufacturing plants
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels, ensuring a strong safety culture
Promote behavior-based safety programs to identify and modify unsafe behaviors through observation, feedback, and positive reinforcement
Develop solutions for practices/processes out of compliance
Monitor departments/business segments to ensure compliance with company policy
Environmental Compliance:
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including RCRA
Manage hazardous waste disposal and reporting in accordance with RCRA requirements
Oversee air emissions monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with Title V permits
Develop and implement environmental management systems and policies
Program Management and Development:
Develop and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
Collaborate with plant EHS managers to implement best practices and standardize EHS processes across all locations
Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and trends
Training and Development:
Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees and management
Ensure that all employees are adequately trained on EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Work with plant staff to improve compliance awareness/training
Review current practices and processes to ensure they remain within specifications
Train team members to use best practices in alignment with regulations
Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead a team of plant EHS managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all manufacturing sites
Collaborate with other departments to integrate EHS considerations into operational decisions
Prepare reports for plant & corporate management review
Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics:
Conduct industrial hygiene studies and readings to determine hazardous exposure to employees
Perform ergonomics studies to improve workplace design and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders
Develop white papers and business case studies with Return on Investment (ROI) for improvements in engineered controls, PPE, etc
Boat Construction Regulatory Compliance
Assist in the identification of manufacturing non-conformities not meeting design and construction standards specifications
Develop and recommend corrective actions for identified compliance issues in collaboration with the White River Compliance Officer
Provide training to plant staff on regulatory compliance awareness and best practices related to boating manufacturing standards
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Prepare and review incident reports and lead root cause analysis
Organize and deliver ongoing safety training sessions
Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics
Ensure continuous regulatory compliance with RCRA, Title V air permits, and other relevant regulations

Encouraging and facilitating employee involvement in safety initiatives and committees
Maintain and foster open communication with plant EHS managers and senior leadership
Develop and present an annual EHS plan that outlines goals, initiatives, and resource requirements
Lead response and recovery for significant incidents including coordinating with external agencies and stakeholders
Review and update EHS policies and procedures while maintaining cohesiveness across the company’s safety program
Lead strategic EHS projects and initiatives

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred Degree: Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.
• Certificate(s) or License(s): Preferred Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant EHS certification.
