Desired Profile : B.Tech / B.E. + MBA with specialization in Logistics and Supply Chain Management 15-20 years of experience in a leadership role in any FMCG / Agri Processing company
AFRICA Experience is MUST.
Purpose Of The Role
To ensure availability of all Logistical requirement of the organization in terms of transportation of goods / assets /Vehicle planning and other logistic infrastructure requirement.
Own and prepare a roadmap for Logistics Planning, Introduce and drive optimum and cost effective world class Logistics practices with a keen eye on Logistical cost optimization and effectiveness of the process.
Porfile - Role & Respobsibilities
• Estimate the logistics requirement for the company in the form of manpower, vehicles and other infrastructure
• Training and guidance to drivers and controllers toward safe and efficient movements of goods
• Prepare KPI to drivers and controllers and monitor performance
• Monitoring of fuel consumption and others consumables
• Tracking for vehicle movement by GPS and fuel consumptions on line.
• Motivate drivers for safe driving, traffic rules adherence, document compliance
• Regular checkup of vehicles for cleanliness, hygiene, compliance to toolkits, legal documents etc
• Prepare a logistics plan for a week in consultation with sales and warehouse management
• Parking policies and display visuals for safe operations
• Coordination with garage for proactive maintenance of vehicles
• Recruitment of good drivers, appreciation and award policies
• Daily / weekly report on fuel consumption, cost of fuel, peage -road tax and ensuring all the records are tallying with Finance. Recovery of monies in case of missing receipts.
• Run safe working hour initiatives
• Monitor cost of primary and secondary distribution of goods as prepare weekly report
• Indicative Key Result Areas
• Managing Global Logistics operations (Shipment Planning, Route Planning, Multi Modal Transportation, Route Planning, Documentation, monitoring and tracking import shipments).
• Managing entire Import and Logistics, Procedures and documentation (right from procuring Import License and BV Code from Bank and BIVAC respectively, BV Inspection Report and CRF from Supplier & getting AVI from BIVAC)
• Managing and coordinating with Logistics Intermediaries (Durban Port Clearing Agent, Dare Salam Port Clearing Agent & DR Congo Custom Clearing Agent, Zambia- Lusaka-airport/Zambia-Mpulungu port (Tanganyika lake port) clearing agents)
• Negotiating freight charges from time to time with local and international carriers and service providers
• Continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving Service Providers and Suppliers performance.
• Prepare Logistics Policies and rules and regulations for company
• Prepare budget for logistics operation and continuously monitoring and finding ways to reduce the cost.
• Logistics performance improvement projects and reports
