Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for executing day-to-day accounting tasks. These tasks include maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, assisting with accounts payable, handling specific accounts receivable administrative tasks, and participating in annual and 401(k) audits.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Assists in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis
• Conducts financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Assists with accounts payable
• Conducts customer credit verifications
• Prepares and posts credit/debit memos
• Contact customers with past due accounts
• Collaborates with customer service and quality teams to resolve customer issues related to payments
• Enters data using the SyteLine software package to generate daily and monthly reports.
• Forecasts future cash receipts on a weekly basis
• Provides assistance in all areas of general accounting
• Hold primary responsibility for the annual 401(k) audit
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Education And Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• 3 to 6 years of related work experience in general accounting functions
• Prior accounting experience (journal entries, fluctuation analysis, account reconciliation)
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Proficient in MS Office
