Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and preparation of financial reports. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of accounting principles and a strong commitment to accuracy and timeliness in financial recordkeeping.
Responsibilities (Included but Not Limited To):
General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update the company’s general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, undeposited funds, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Month-End Close: Finalize and close out monthly financial activity, including recognizing revenue/expenses and recording intercompany activity through “Due to/from” accounts in QuickBooks Online.
Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify terms, and ensure timely vendor and supplier payments.
Accounts Receivable: Record and track incoming payments, generate invoices in line with sales contracts, and maintain accurate customer accounts.
Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Financial Reporting: Prepare reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, accounts receivable summaries, sales reports, and commission reports.
Payroll: Process semi-monthly payroll and updating payroll software after enrollment periods.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring alignment with budget guidelines and policies.
File Management: Collect, maintain, and organize financial records for compliance and audit readiness.
Other Ad Hoc Accounting Tasks: Perform additional accounting responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in an accrual-basis environment (e.g., deferred/recognized revenue, prepaid/recognized expenses).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and other office software.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
Organizational Skills: Strong prioritization and time-management skills.
Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication; team-oriented mindset.
Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker with a proactive, solution-driven approach.
