Position Overview
This position is responsible for general accounting, month-end closing and financial reporting duties for Elevate Outdoor Collective, LLC, USA. Responsibilities include maintaining, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and subledgers, calculating commissions and royalties, intercompany and foreign exchange accounting, expense report processing, and reconciling cash transactions. This role will also assist with month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, and reporting. Will also support year-end and ad hoc audits. The position requires a highly motivated and analytical thinker that is able to analyze and understand financial/accounting transactions and make appropriate accounting treatment recommendations as necessary.
Responsibilities
• Month-end closing processes including complex calculations and account reconciliations and analysis with recommendations for resolution.
• Provides monthly analysis of trial balance and commentary on variances,
• Performs foreign intercompany GL transactions, reconciliations and eliminations,
• Reviews financial statements for accuracy, identifies errors and recommends corrections,
• Regular review and documentation of area of responsibility SOPs, continuously updating and improving upon daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly processes,
• Ensures the suitability and effectiveness of internal controls, monitors performance to controls and makes recommendations for improvement,
• Analyze and recommend appropriate accounting treatment of business processes and transactions,
• Provides analysis, reports, and support to accounting team, FP&A, and Management relating to financial matters and operations,
• Monitor, audit, process daily, monthly expense reporting transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policy.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience required
• Two plus years’ experience; preferably in a Global Manufacturing Organization
• Advanced Excel Experience
• Experience working with external audit partners on year-end audit processes
• Ability to prepare and present complex information within the accounting team and to management
• Experience working with large data sets
• Ability to navigate in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines
• Comfortable working independently and staying on task without supervision to meet deadlines
• Comfortable with changing internal processes
Preferred Qualifications
• Manufacturing company experience a plus
• Oracle NetSuite experience a plus
• Hyperion Financial Management experience a plus
• Foreign Currency translation experience a plus
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to enter data on a computer for extended periods of time
• Working on a computer extended periods of time
• Ability to speak and hear
• May be required to lift 15-50 pounds occasionally
