Staff Accountant (3 Month Contract)
LeoStella is a state-of-the-art small satellite design and manufacturing company based in the Seattle area. At LeoStella, we are redefining how high-quality satellite constellations are built at scale. Our focus is on developing and using intelligent and agile engineering and manufacturing processes to accelerate the development and production of small-sat constellations, all while lowering costs and increasing on-orbit capabilities.
The work we do at LeoStella is helping organizations and markets change the world by removing the barriers to building satellite constellations. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, high performing team focused on changing the paradigm in satellite development and production!
Position Description:
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assists with establishing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Maintains the general ledger
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field, required
• 3+ years of related experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of detail accuracy.
Desired Qualifications:
• Familiarity with HRIS Systems
• Familiarity with ERP
Additional Notes:
• Pay Rate is $40-50/hr
