Job Description
Our client in the home builder's real estate industry is seeking a Staff Accountant who would report to the controller.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable function. Duties to include:
• Coding invoices and obtaining proper approvals
• Processing approved Work and Purchase Orders
• Prepare and process timely payments to vendors. Check runs performed twice per month.
• Preparation and collection of lien releases that accompany subcontractor payments.
• Manages electronic filing
• Obtains and manages W-+s and certificates of insurance.
• Manage AP mailbox.
• General ledger maintenance.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Prepare and record deposits.
• Assist and/or prepare monthly bank draw requests for multiple projects.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures and preparation of monthly financial statement binders.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in the home building industry.
• Strong computer skills with experience working with Excel, Microsoft 365, and Word.
• Experience using MarkSystems homebuilder software is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
