Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position is responsible for performing a variety of general accounting support tasks, including but not limited to journal entry processing; supporting the month- and year-end close process, performing account reconciliations, filing various business and tax reports, assisting with the preparation of GAAP compliant financial statements, and providing support for the annual assurance and tax return engagements with our outside accounting firm. The Staff Accountant must be able to meet strict deadlines as well as collaborate with others to achieve ongoing improvements and best practices for the finance department. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Understanding of accrual-based accounting
• Ability to process functions and formulas (VLOOKUP, SUMIF and pivot tables) in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
It is preferred an individual have:
• One to three years' general accounting experience
• Sage 100 experience
