Mission
The Staff Accountant will be directly responsible for maintaining the accuracy of financial records and transactions including journal and general ledger entries, account reconciliations and full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Staff Accountant position requires direct interaction with the Operations teams to facilitate accurate and timely payments/receipts to/from clients and their employees. Ideal candidate should have excellent analytical skills and enjoy working in a challenging and fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
• Prepare bank and balance sheet accounts reconciliations and ensure that any variances are investigated, resolved and documented
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Coordinate invoice processing including routing for approvals and submit to AP for payment. Ensure proper GL coding, and reconcile to GL on a monthly basis.
• Settle client payments and research any unknown transactions to apply to client accounts, reprocess NSF and ACH kickbacks, and prepare weekly aging report
• Reconcile and post incoming cash deposits and do weekly bank runs
• Assist with standardizing processes and ensure compliance
• Participate in a variety of ad-hoc reports, special projects, process improvements and analysis as necessary
• Assist with gathering and providing support for annual audit
• Cross train and backup team members for daily/monthly tasks. Active participation in team meetings, trainings and activities.
• Qualifications
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills
• Proficient with Sage Intacct and Salesforce preferable
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• 3 years Accounting experience
• Bonus - PEO Experience and Prism experience
