What You'll Do
The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounting functions of the Company and will work with the Controller and other departments to record transactions into the general ledger. The individual will be responsible for entering, reviewing, and correcting transactions as well as reconciling accounts and providing accurate and timely financial reports.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Reconcile general ledger accounts (bank, AR, AP, Inventory, other assets, and liabilities) and maintain month-end backup of all balance sheet accounts.
• Month end and year end accounting procedures.
• Review and record non-AR and AP transactions including payroll, 401k activity, wires, and miscellaneous cash receipts and disbursements.
• Manage sales tax compliance including filings using Avalara.
• Assist with administration of medical benefits, property and casualty insurance, Worker’s Compensation, 401k, and taxes and licenses.
• Maintain property and equipment and depreciation schedules.
Secondary Duties:
• Communicate with, support, and provide backup to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Cash Application.
• Prepare reports and work on accounting related projects as needed.
• Suggest process improvements
Skills Required:
• BSBA in Accounting or equivalent
• 3 years or more work experience in a similar position
• At least 1 year of recent Netsuite experience is a must have
• Task oriented with attention to detail
