JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant supports the financial reporting and general accounting teams in areas of month-end and quarterly reporting, back up support on various accounting reconciliation tasks, and regular journal entry preparation, and audit coordination support. Participates in ad hoc accounting projects such as expense analysis, internal control reviews, accounting software upgrades, and data/information process improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monthly processes
• Prepare and record certain journal entries to general ledger
• Prepare reporting for compliance on debt arrangements
• Support coordination of audit requirements/requests
• Month-end close/reporting processes
• Prepare certain month-end schedules
• Prepare and record certain journal entries to general ledger
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze account activity
• Analyze financial data and research fluctuations
• Assist in preparation of month-end statistics
• Accounting related projects as directed by the Manager
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• 1 to 3 years of accounting experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience working with large amounts of financial data
• Ability to organize and produce operational and accounting reports
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Reconciliation experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required; Microsoft Access preferred
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
College graduate in Accounting
