Staff Accountant
Location: Bardstown, KY
Salary: $70,000 per year DOE
Type: Full-time – direct hire
Responsibilities and Duties of the Staff Accountant:
• Manage and track incoming payments, including customer deposits, milestone payments, and final billings.
• Work with multiple payment platforms such as WAF, IPP, ARIBA, and EXOSTAR.
• Handle customer inquiries and billing issues, collaborating with the Sales Department and Project Managers to resolve any discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of cost reports, comparing to budget and prior year, and identify inconsistencies.
• Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations and maintain assigned general ledger accounts.
• Perform general bookkeeping tasks.
• Conduct multiple bank reconciliations.
• Provide backup support for payroll processing.
• Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Qualifications and Skills of the Staff Accountant:
• Must have a 4 year degree
• Minimum of 5 years as a Staff Accountant, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry with job cost experience.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Knowledge of M1 by ECI, VISTA by Viewpoint, or similar construction-based/manufacturing-based software is a plus.
• Experience with Certified & Prevailing Wage Payroll is strongly preferred.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word with advanced skills in Excel.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read and analyze financial reports effectively.
