Robert Half is offering a permanent position for a skilled Staff Accountant to join their dynamic and rapidly-growing team. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Baltimore, Maryland area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
How you will make an impact
• Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
• Partake in various department-wide initiatives
• In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
• Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
• Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
• Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
• Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
• Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
• Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Requirements
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
• Recent and relevant accounting experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
• Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
