Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will be tasked with ensuring the accuracy of our financial documents, along with their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accurate and efficient processing of transactions into the accounting system.
• Maintain precise financial records and ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying and consolidating these records.
• Assist other accounting staff in a variety of tasks such as adjusting and closing entries, preparing profit and loss statements, inventory, and balance sheets.
• Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
• Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Perform bank reconciliation tasks, verifying deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks.
• Provide support for annual financial statement audits, as well as periodic internal audits.
• Improve and document general processes for assigned areas, developing and improving accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Assist in the annual external audit by preparing schedules with supporting documentation as needed.
• Ensure strict confidentiality of financial records.
• Utilize skills in Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, SAP, Microsoft Excel.
