Staff Accountant
Location: Mumbai, India
About The Department
The mission of the Accounting & Finance department at Databook is to be a trusted advisor to the company, driving actionable financial insights and influencing corporate decision-making through timely and accurate financials and metrics.
The Opportunity
Databook is searching for a highly motivated individual to join our Accounting and Finance team as our Staff Accountant. You will be a key contributor to the Accounting and Finance organization in our rapidly growing company. This role requires a basic understanding of the U.S. accounting and will report directly to the U.S. Controller along with the Indian Director and work cross- functionally with multiple departments. The work timings are expected to be around 1pm - 10pm IST (12.30am-+.30am PST).

Responsibilities Include
• Monitor and manage billing email
• Obtain invoice approvals based on appropriate approval authorities
• Enter invoices in NetSuite and update semi-monthly cash report in a timely manner
• Maintain and organize electronic copies of vendor invoices and additional supporting documents
• Maintain and organize electronic copies of customer POs and other documents
• Enter Sales Orders in NetSuite, generate Invoices and email or upload to customers
• Apply payments to outstanding invoices
• Respond and research on vendor/customer inquiries
• Post payments to the general ledger and conducting weekly cash reconciliation
• Assist with semi-monthly cash report, expense reimbursement review and approvals
• Assist with prepaid and fixed assets reconciliations, federal and state tax filings
• Assist with timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
About You
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams
• Display honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments
• Comfort with organizational changes in a fast-moving environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, including Word and Excel
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• NetSuite experience
• Experience working in the SaaS industry
