About you

The Staff Accountant is responsible primarily for supporting key accounting processes including inventory payables management, and special projects. This role requires effective communication skills, strong attention to detail, passion for developing relationships and partnerships, superior organizational and project management skills, as well as intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

You must be able to move with ease across priorities and deliver to timelines with accuracy and efficiency. As well as run small-scale projects independently.
Requirements:What you’ll do

General responsibilities will include:

- Weekly Offline Billing processing, including follow up collections with schools

- Accounts Payable processing – inventory payables owner

- Inventory accounting processes, reporting, and analysis.

- Weekly report preparation and review.

- Maintain, develop, and foster vendor relationships.

- Assigned balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations

- Month end processing support, including but not limited to Journal entry preparation and input.

- Budget tracking, general ledger review

- Cash application back up

- Special projects as assigned.

- Maintenance and resolution of sales, use, unemployment, and payroll tax accounts.

- Serve as redundancy to critical processes performed by other team members as assigned.

- Corporate card management – reviewing, coding, posting.

- Weekly payment processing – uploading to bank for processing.

Essential qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year of related work experience.

- Formal accounting education – in progress schooling near graduation, bachelor’s or associate degree

- Prior accounting processing experience

- Curiosity and willingness to dive in and solve problems

- Strong Excel skills

- Excellent communication skills and professional presence

- Passion for accounting, and understanding how accounting supports the business

- Adaptability to change

- Demonstrated organizational skills

Preferred (nice to have) qualifications:

- Netsuite experience

- Month end close processing

Role needs a self-motivated, independent accounting professional that can have a positive impact on creating and defining accounting processes and procedures.

This is a hybrid role, which requires 2-3 days a week in a shared office working environment. Flexibility exists on days and times, but we do value in person training as well as freedom to work from home for more focused workdays.
