We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of financial activities including month-end close, financial analysis, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, audits, and adjusting journal entries. This position requires a high level of accuracy, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Responsibilities
As a Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include
• Performing month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Conducting financial analysis on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data to ensure accuracy and provide actionable insights for decision making.
• Performing daily bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring it accurately reflects the company's financial transactions.
• Coordinating and conducting internal and external audits, providing necessary financial data, and implementing suggested changes.
• Preparing and adjusting journal entries, ensuring accurate representation of the company's financial position.
• Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes, improve financial reporting, and assist with strategic planning.
• Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and keeping up-to-date with new financial laws.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant position should possess the following qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in month-end close, financial analysis, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, audits, and adjusting journal entries.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
• Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
