Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our organization. This position is responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, supporting budget development, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Overview Of Staff Accountant Role
• Reconcile cash accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review bills entered by Sage AI and manually enter those outside the automated process.
• Capture bill data (performed by Sage AI), route for approval, manage approvers, and post to the General Ledger (GL). Handle and manage any exceptions.
• Record and reconcile transactions made with employee purchasing cards.
• Process and pay bills in a timely and accurate manner.
• Enter new vendors into Sage, ensuring all relevant information is captured.
• Prepare 10++s for applicable vendors.
• Review the scholar lead payment roster and submit payments to Chase.
• Review the college disbursement roster and submit payments to Chase.
Preferred Qualifications For The Staff Accountant
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
• Proficiency in accounting software Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
