Job Description
We're seeking a dependable and collaborative Staff Accountant. This role plays a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting internal teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Assist with the processing of all incoming and outgoing wire transfers (domestic and international).
Ensure all wire activity is processed under dual control with the Accounting Representative, Supervisor, or Controller.
Prepare and process daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports as directed by the Controller and Accounting Supervisor.
Perform daily reconciliation of mobile banking, ATM transactions, and Federal Reserve Bank activity.
Complete weekly and monthly reconciliations as assigned.
Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring invoices are submitted by team members in a timely manner.
Conduct accounting review of all invoices to ensure accuracy and readiness for processing.
Review work completed by the Accounting Representative, including reconciliations, for accuracy and completeness.
Provide guidance and support to the Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Representative, assisting with problem-solving.
Serve as a backup for both roles when needed.
Perform daily GL reconciliations such as mobile deposits, Shieldsvault cash and accounts payable clearing.
Identify opportunities for departmental improvements and support implementation of solutions.
Respond to internal inquiries via email, phone, and other communication platforms.
Provide support on requests including EFT research, check copies, stop payments, wire confirmations, and other accounting-related tasks.
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Three to five years of similar or related experience.
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
Must be able to operate general office equipment including 10-key calculator and be able to use Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
Must be experienced and knowledgeable with accounting terms and processes.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Solid understanding of reconciliation processes and financial reporting
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
