STENO 3

12 MONTH POSITION

$25.47 TO START, MAX $2+.7+ per hour

Reporting to the Superintendent of Special Education, through the Executive Assistant, the Steno III co-ordinates and provides administrative and secretarial support for the effective day-to-day operation of the special education department. Duties include assisting the Executive Assistant and Superintendent with the development of board reports / presentations, correspondence (e.g. schools / parents, etc.), OnSIS reporting / reconciliation, IEP OnLine, SEAC meeting preparation, website management, SIP claim applications, PPE ordering and processing, transportation requests of individualized transportation, coordination of Section 23 programs (e.g. MOU contracts, PowerSchool registration, reporting, etc.), as well as providing day-to-day direct support to the principal(s) of special education, etc.

Qualifications:

Required: Advanced skills in various software applications, e.g. M.S. Office. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred: Knowledge of Simcoe County District School Board Policies, Administrative Procedures Memoranda and Numbered Memoranda. Knowledge of board approved software, e.g. JD Edwards, registration utility. Facility with programs utilized in special education, including IEP online.

Previous experience working in an educational environment.
