Are you energetic, creative, and passionate about bringing community events to life? The Town is seeking a student to support the delivery and promotion of our exciting summer events season.

This is an exciting seasonal opportunity for a student pursuing post-secondary education in marketing, communications, event planning, or a related field. In this role, you will be working behind the scenes and on the front lines of community events, while helping showcase the Town through engaging marketing content.

What you'll do:

Reporting to the Manager of Communications, Marketing and Legislative Services, this individual will work alongside the marketing and communications team to provide day-to-day support in planning, organizing, promoting, and executing Town events and community celebrations. This position plays a key role in marketing the Town’s signature summer events, including Canada Day and the Stampede Parade, while assisting with event logistics, photography, and social media content creation.

Event Management

Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the marketing and communications team
Assist with Town events and community activities
Support the marketing and promotion of key summer events, including:
Canada Day celebrations
Stampede events and activities
Attend Town events to support setup, coordination, and guest experience
Capture photos and event highlights for promotional purposes
Draft and prepare social media content and event updates for the Communications team
Assist with event signage, vendor coordination, volunteer support, and on-site logistics
Maintain a positive and professional presence while representing the Town at public events
Support additional marketing and community engagement initiatives as assigned

Successful applicants will demonstrate on their resume:

Qualify as a student to support the Canada Summer Jobs Grant
Post-secondary concentration in marketing, communications, event planning or a related field
Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office
Experience in a municipal government environment is preferred
In the interview we will be looking for examples of the following competencies:

Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and OneNote
