ADD VALUE - THE ROLE

The Swimming Pool Barrier Compliance Officer is responsible for undertaking inspections to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation as well as the promotion of swimming pool safety. This includes all relevant administration responsibilities and inspections associated with Council’s Swimming Pool Barrier Inspection program.

Key responsibilities include:
Provide timely and as well as accurate advice in relation to swimming barrier pool compliance and standards
Maintain excellent customer service and relationships with key stakeholders, including pool owners using negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Promote Council’s Swimming Pool Barrier Inspection Program, participating in community engagement activities
Serve Orders/Notices under the Swimming Pools Act 1++2 and any other relevant Act or Regulation,
Issue swimming pool Compliance Certificates for swimming pool safety barriers where appropriate
Essential to this role is a Certificate IV in a relevant discipline and/or a working knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legislation, regulations and codes applicable to swimming pools including Swimming Pools Act 1++2 and Regulation 2008, AS 1+26 Swimming Pool Safety parts 1 & 2 or extensive experience in a similar environment. This will be complemented by your well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, presentation and public relation skills, with a high level of conflict resolution skills.

Registration as a Swimming Pool Inspector with NSW Fair Trading (formerly E1) would be advantageous in this role.

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.

Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade + of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $73,+08 - $83,137 per annum plus a generous vehicle allowance of $17,043 and 11.5% superannuation.
