Syniverse seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Shared Services Tax Department as a Senior Tax Accountant. This position is an integral part of the tax team and is a valuable contributor to the tax compliance and tax accounting functions, supporting preparation of global income and indirect tax (excluding payroll) compliance, tax accounting, forecasting and tax function activities, required to meet the Company's internal and external tax obligations globally.
Additional Information
Job responsibilities:
• Prepare income and indirect tax return workpapers, tax attribute work papers, and tax-related reconciliations, with primary focus on U.S. taxation and reporting
• Coordinate with external advisors globally for co-sourced return processing
• Prepare estimated tax and extension analysis and coordinate the processing of payments
• Monitor and research local income tax legislative changes to ensure compliance with rapidly changing taxation and capitalize on opportunities
• Research tax notices received and correspond with the taxing authority as needed
• Provide support, as necessary and often in coordination with external advisors, for local income tax audits
• Improve process and procedures cross functionally, assisting in the delivery of tax transformation projects, which may include optimizing use of existing systems (e.g. ERP or consolidation tools), implementation of 3rd party solutions (e.g. tax engines), leverage of other systems (data analytics/visualization solutions), the development of solutions or the provision of managed services.
• Special projects and other work as assigned.
Requirements :
• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance
• 5 years of tax/accounting experience with a public accounting firm and/or a tax department of a corporation
• Possesses an attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion autonomously
• Strong forensic accounting skills, including the ability to collect, prepare and analyze data and information to reconstruct, detect, support, or refute a position and ensure that explanation provided reconciles with the underlying data
• Exceptional written, presentation, and communication skills including the ability to translate technical tax issues clearly and succinctly to individuals without technical tax backgrounds
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with data analytical software, accounting software and/or SAP a plus
