About the Opportunity

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term opportunity (maternity leave cover) for an experienced Talent and Performance Manager to lead enterprise‑wide approaches to performance management, talent assessment, succession planning and retention across ASC.

This is a pivotal role that partners closely with senior leaders to strengthen workforce capability, improve retention outcomes and support organisational success.

You will take a forward‑looking view of organisational capability. You will apply strong strategic insight, stakeholder influence and data‑driven thinking to enhance how talent and performance are managed across the business.

You will lead a diverse national team and work closely with the broader Organisational Development function, People and Culture Business Partners, Learning and Development, Recruitment, Workforce Planning, and Nuclear and Capability Development. Together, you will ensure talent, performance and retention initiatives are aligned, embedded and delivering measurable impact now and into the future.

This role is open to candidates based in WA or SA, with the option for fully remote work for candidates based outside these states.

Responsibilities

Talent, Performance and Retention Strategy - Lead enterprise‑wide talent, performance and retention strategies aligned to organisational priorities, providing expert advice to leaders on workforce risks and opportunities.
Performance Management - Design, embed and continuously improve the performance management lifecycle to drive accountability, consistency and sustainable high performance.
Retention and Workforce Sustainability - Develop and implement evidence‑based retention strategies informed by workforce data, partnering with the business to address risks in critical roles and capability areas.
Talent Assessment and Succession - Lead enterprise talent assessment and succession planning to support business continuity, workforce stability and future capability needs.
Workforce Insights and Reporting - Provide data‑driven insights and reporting on talent, performance and retention to inform executive decision‑making and proactive risk management.
Governance and Continuous Improvement - Establish and maintain governance frameworks ensuring talent, performance and retention practices are compliant, effective and continuously improved.
Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders to influence and embed effective talent and performance practices.
People Leadership – Lead, support and develop team members to deliver high‑quality outcomes while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

About you

You are a senior people and culture professional with:

Significant experience leading talent, performance and retention initiatives in a complex organisation
A strong understanding of performance management, workforce analytics and succession planning
Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior leaders
A pragmatic, evidence‑based approach with a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills
A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is required.


Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
