Our client is a well-known high-street brand with stores across Australia. Due to ongoing success, they are looking to hire a new member into their finance team.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a broad role for a finance professional who can work independently and contribute their ideas to providing exceptional value to stakeholders.
You Will Be Responsible For
Managing the financial reporting cycle including daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly reports, taking ownership of the submission of monthly results to the Finance Director and ensuring that the reporting adheres to deadlines and standard processes.
Monitoring actual performance vs forecast/budget.
Managing the month-end accounting.
Providing accurate accounting and financial reporting within monthly reporting deadlines such as accounting, reconciliations, monthly financial reports (including initial review of the above prior to Finance Director review to ensure robustness of work produced)
Co-ordination with Finance Operations to ensure timely payment of suppliers and payroll, assisting the Finance Director in management of cash-flow
Maintain and improve regular management reporting to internal customers with various regular reports and KPIs on revenue, costs, etc
Provision of commercial analysis, including preparation of business cases, ad-hoc analysis
Improve internal controls and compliance within the Business Unit.
Maintain clear and concise communication with internal and external contacts & provide clear and constructive feedback and guidance
Conducting internal audits on system processes and procedures and areas of improvement
Budgeting & Forecasting
To Be Successful You Will Be
University degree in accounting, business
Professional qualification (CA or CPA)
Experience working in the retail industry with a preference for multi-site/ store set structure
Strong technical accounting, reporting and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
A collaborative, adaptable and proactive nature, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Highly numerate and strong analytical capabilities
A continuous improvement, innovation and creativity mindset
Self-starter and willingness to assume responsibilities
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
