The Tax Accountant is responsible for the preparation of complex tax returns, assisting in tax planning, and working with clientele to complete yearly taxes for personal and business purposes. With 5+ years of experience, the individual is expected to have developed a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations. They are proficient in tax software and databases, and ensure that all tax forms and documents comply with IRS standards. Key Responsibilities include:
• Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations.
• Guide and mentor junior tax accountants.
• Handle tax audits and resolve tax notices, communicating with the IRS and state tax authorities.
• Develop tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant and tax-efficient.
• Stay updated with industry trends and changes in tax laws.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience working as a Tax Accountant
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience managing Tax Preparation, Filing Taxes, and Preparing returns
• Manage IRS and Tax Board notices for compliance with filing
• Hard working mentality and mindset to drive key business initiatives
• Experience working multiple tax busy seasons with external clients
Plusses:
• CPA Certification (Certified Public Accountant
• Prior experience using ATX Software
Annual Compensation:
$75,000 - $110,000 + Bonus Structure
