Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals. Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.

As a Tax Analyst in Property Tax, you will be responsible for assisting in the analysis, reporting and compliance of the real estate and personal property tax programs for Target. The Property Tax Analyst will accurately maintain the property tax database records, including but not limited to property assessments, tax payments, tax appeals milestones and results, and outstanding refunds. You will ensure all tax bills have been received for timely payment, review the tax value notices to analyze variances from prior periods, and gather market values of similar retail commericial property to support the preparation of tax appeals. You will review landlord tax bills to ensure they accurately reflect our lease contract terms and request tax payments to ensure bills are paid on time. You will also continually seek ways to streamline manual processes and look for process efficiencies by utilizing automation tools and technology such as OCR, bots and Alteryx. In this role, you will leverage your property tax expertise, communication skills, and business process knowledge when assisting Sr. Managers and Sr. Tax Analysts in Property tax with property tax inquires. This includes scheduling store visits and communicating with internal partners on issues related to landlords bills and tax payments. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Requirements

3/4 years degree or equivalent combination of professional education and experience.
Previous experience in International / US Property tax, property accounting, accounts payable or expense management function. Corporate tax in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department is preferred.
Experience with iTAM Link or similar property tax software and SAP or similar ERP software is preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented, organized and efficient in work processes.
Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with Microsoft applications.
