Tax Assistant
Location: Selby Office

Salary: Dependent on experience.

At Smailes Goldie, we are proud to be one of the region’s leading independent accountancy firms, and we’re looking for a Tax Assistant to support the compliance services we offer to a range of individual clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing tax returns for various clients, including income tax, capital gains tax calculations and rental and self-employed accounts.
Undertaking and completing work assigned to you by senior staff, in line with agreed timescales, budgets and compliance with the applicable regulatory framework.
Preparing draft correspondence to client queries.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent service and upholding the Firm’s reputation.
Proactively managing workload, workflow and prioritising tasks effectively to safeguard the firm and clients’ deadlines are met.
Qualification/Experience:
We are looking for applicants who are ATT qualified or part qualified, with a fundamental understanding of UK tax compliance and familiarity with Tax preparation software.
Most importantly, we are looking for a hardworking individual who can work under pressure with strong communication skills.
