What You’ll Do
Review tax returns and K-1s from external tax preparer for accuracy and completeness
Assist in compliance with 1031x structuring and REIT compliance
Conduct in-depth research on real estate tax laws, regulations, and rulings to guarantee accurate tax filings
Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement tax strategies related to 1031x and other tax structuring and processes
Communicate effectively with clients to obtain necessary tax information and address tax-related inquiries promptly
Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the tax compliance and 1031x structuring realm
Stay abreast of changes in real estate tax laws and regulations, providing guidance to the team as needed
Who You Are
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2-4 years of proven experience in tax preparation or accounting, preferably in the real estate sector
Thorough knowledge of federal and state real estate tax laws
Proficient in the use of tax software and MS Office Suite
Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
CPA certification or demonstrated progress towards achieving CPA status
Familiarity with tax research tools specialized for real estate tax matters
Experience in developing tax planning strategies tailored to real estate transactions
