About the role

An exciting career opportunity exists for a full-time Technical Officer to join the Civil Works team. Reporting directly to the Civil Works Manager, the successful candidate will provide technical support and assist to ensure that the projects undertaken by the Civil Works section are effectively planned, delivered and maintained to Council and the Communities expectations.

About you

While experience within Local Government is highly desirable, it is not essential as we are looking for solutions focused individuals that can deliver positive outcomes for the community. Successful candidates will also hold or be undertaking formal qualifications in an Engineering, Construction or Project Management focused discipline.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assist the Civil Works team to analyse the performance of infrastructure assets to better inform future investment decisions.
Assist in the development of infrastructure plans for roads, bridges, drainage, footpaths, aerodromes and parks and open spaces.
Develop project bid documentation suitable for inclusion in operational and capital budget processes.
Perform the duties of a contract administrator and/or quality officer.
Assist in managing projects and contractors and deliver minor projects.
Assist with the development of project documentation including plans and quality documents.
