Their responsibilities include: Sales: Starting conversations, asking questions, and closing sales Customer support: Answering questions, addressing complaints, and maintaining positive client relationships Product knowledge: Researching products and services, learning about their benefits and specifications, and introducing them to customers Follow-up: Making follow-up calls to customers, and initiating repeat orders Market research: Conducting market research to address customer needs Sales reporting: Preparing sales reports and comparing competitors' offers Record keeping: Maintaining a customer database and tracking and documenting calls and sales Sales strategy: Following a sales script and strategy, but also improvising when needed Industry trends: Being aware of the latest industry trends Telesales representatives typically need strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills. They also need to be patient and friendly, and have good time-management skills
