Join our team of Tour Guides at Fremantle Prison!

We are looking for engaging and enthusiastic Tour Guides to join the Fremantle Prison team. If you are interested in local history with a passion for sharing stories, we would love to work with you.

Tour Guides lead tours through the Fremantle Prison tourism site and present interpretative information to visitors in an engaging and entertaining manner.

This is an open pool recruitment process for permanent and fixed term part-time opportunities. Tour Guides are scheduled to work across seven days and some nights, working a minimum of four shifts a fortnight.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made for similar vacancies for a period of 12 months. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

Fremantle Prison operates as part of the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH). DPLH is responsible for planning and managing land and heritage for all West Australians – now and into the future.

The Department will conduct a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check for applicants successful to this recruitment process.
Hold a valid Western Australian Working with Children Check.
Possession of or willingness to obtain a current ‘Provide First Aid’ Certificate.
Availability and preparedness to work outside of normal hours to meet business needs and during the agency’s annual closedown period, where operational requirements necessitate continued service delivery.
