Job Title: Trade Accountant
Contract length: 12 Month FTC
Location: London
Working patter: Hybrid, 3 days in the office
Salary range: £45,000- £60,000
We are working with an International Commodities business who are seeking a Trade Accountant to join their team overseeing their accounting and control activities. This hands-on role offers an excellent opportunity to develop finance expertise within a soft commodity trading company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily activities for the trading desk, including P&L, accounts payable, and cash accounting, coordinating closely with the India-based accounting team.
• Rotate through month-end processes to build commodity accounting expertise, covering accruals, intercompany reconciliations, management reporting, and certifications.
• Prepare monthly forward books and new business P&L for physical trades.
• Collaborate with trade, shipping, and origin teams to improve processes and address queries.
• Support finance projects such as cash flow forecasting, FX exposure management, and system implementations.
Skills & Experience:
• Fully or part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or similar).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in audit or industry roles.
• Interest in commodity markets.
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Navision and Cognos.
