Job Description
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
Utilise accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft for efficient financial management.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Conduct reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices in financial services.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
Requirements
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software including Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
Experience with accounts payable processes is essential.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Previous experience in a mentoring role is advantageous but not mandatory.
